7 Best VPS Hosting Services (December 2023)
I first began my web journey by searching for the best VPS hosting on Google shortly after choosing Godaddy as the domain registrar (obviously, as opposed to Network Solutions, where Google is registered). It’s the most perplexing aspect of becoming a webmaster, I can assure you. Spam articles are all over the internet and will appear at the top of Google searches to trick you.
Google searches for “best web hosting review” and “top VPS hosting” will always lead you to a page with the domain name blablabla.com,” or something similar. These people are not trying to help you; instead, they are using affiliate marketing to make quick money off of hosting companies.
While some forums, such as Web Hosting Talk and the well-known Webmasterworld, are available to assist you, it will take reading through hundreds of threads to gain a basic understanding of better virtual private servers.
One way to find a web host finder is to look at your competitors. the larger, more prosperous websites. You can tell which one is the best these days by finding out where they are hosted. You can believe those hosting companies without question if you see some rapidly expanding websites and highly ranked websites hosted at a specific host. One of the main elements influencing a website’s development is hosting.
Top Ten Web Hosting Services
1. Digitalocean
On the list, DigitalOcean is expanding the fastest. Among serious webmasters, this is now the option that is expanding the fastest. I’m referring to webmasters who want to increase their traffic and profit from it, not those who only want to host their clients’ websites for a small amount of traffic.
You will have to use Winscp and Putty instead of FileZilla and web panel, which is the only pain in the ass. However, with the aid of YouTube and internet tutorials, it’s simple and okay.
Plans are ultra cheap (Accept Payment from Paypal also ) and start from $5 for 512MB RAM and 1000 GB bandwidth. Of course, you can upgrade easily to a higher plan at any time, if you scale and your traffic goes up. It also allows you to choose your server location from its handful of server locations across the world.
2. Linode
Linode is the second most popular web hosting company in the world. The popular blog Neiplpatel.com and many other top ones are hosted here. Its cheapest plan starts from $10 for 1 GB RAM. It also lets you choose the server location and Linux OS. Offers a managed service option. Notions that Linode and DO are for geeks are not correct. Anyone can use it with little help.
3. MediaTemple
The most well-liked host if you’re nervous about setting up your server via SSH initially is Media Temple. It offers one of the greatest managed hosting services available anywhere. Among the clients are Adobe, Jquery, Samsung, and so forth. It gives you access to a Plesk or Cpanel panel so you can manage your websites with ease. Plans with 2GB RAM and 2000 GB of data transfer start at $55 per month. Reputable and having the highest uptime, Managed Web Hosting (MT) remains at the top of the list.
4. Amazon AWS
Although webmasters rated Amazon Aws as the best, it has a steep learning curve. The pricing structure is based on the well-known “pay as you use” cloud service pricing model. It is the greatest option if you want to scale extremely quickly, think your website idea will take off at any moment, and don’t want to bother upgrading or downsizing your server every time it goes up and down.
5. Rackspace
In the beginning, successful webmasters and business owners who desired a powerful and effective dedicated web server and had websites with a lot of traffic were the ones who made Rackspace famous. They used to offer a lower dedicated plan that cost $200+, but they are now also offering cloud hosting services that are usable in the beginning. They are the only web host that made the genuine claim of a 100% guaranteed uptime.
6. Softlayer
Softlayer is an IBM-owned company whose Virtual server plans start from $27 per month. They offer 5000 GB bandwidth traffic per month for $27 virtual server plans. You can go for their dedicated server or cloud server offerings as well. The server can be instantly scaled and is available with 100mbps public or private nodes with geographically redundant DNS.
7. Liquidweb
Managed VPS hosting from Liquid Web starts at $50 per month and includes 1 GB of RAM, 50 GB of disk space, and 5 TB of data transfer. I’ve seen this location host a lot of highly ranked Alexa websites. even though I haven’t used it myself. But if you’re looking for a managed hosting solution, they appear to be just as trustworthy as Media Temple.
8. Peer1
I first heard of peer1 when I was amused by the success of Canadian entrepreneur Markus Frind of Plentyoffish. Since he managed to scale his website to the top 1k Alexa rank in a short period, I thought he must be using Rackspace.
But it was peer1 services that he used. Peer1 also offers dedicated managed services which they claim to have the best uptime with features like load balancing technology etc. to make it one of the greatest hosting services in the world.
9. DreamHost
Dreamhost is a Los Angeles web hosting company that offers some beautiful managed web hosting VPS plans starting from $15 and having 1 GB RAM. Labnol by Amit Agarwal is hosted here and similarly many reputed blogs and sites. It provides the cheapest managed Virtual private servers.
10. vultr
It is the newest and cheapest one on the list. For just $5 it provides 768MB ram. You can choose your server location while deploying sever from server locations across, America, Europe, and Asia Pacific. While doing some internet research, I was unable to find genuine negative reviews about Vultr and with the speed at which it is growing, it may outpace competitors soon.
Why VPS over shared Hosting?
You should always choose VPS over shared if you are planning to grow and scale shortly. Also in VPS, you can host multiple websites, but in the shared hosting starter package mostly $30 to $40 per year, you can host only a single website, and let me tell you, your hosted website should never poke your nose in high high-traffic arena.
I mean they are okay for popular shared hosting packages across the globe only as long as they are low-traffic websites. Once they grow, these Devil hosting companies will disable your website and send you a sorry email. I have experienced it myself also. So believe that there is no such thing as unlimited bandwidth or unlimited disk space. This is all a Marketing Gimmick.
